It's that time of year again!

Winter is here! With cold temperatures, sometimes cold enough to cause
hypothermia in pets left outside with no shelter. Please do not leave
your "best friend" outside when you wouldn't go out yourself without a
heavy coat, gloves and a hat.

Especially smaller breeds or those with short coats can suffer with out
a shelter to keep their body temperature normal. Make sure where ever
they spend their day, they have an
adequate supply of fresh water.
Definitely consider hiring a pet sitter to keep them company if you
can't be home.

With many families enjoying reunions, office parties, and other
entertainment, remember to keep the goodies out of reach of your pets.
Many treats, like chocolate & raisins are toxic to our furry friends.
Candies made with the sweetner Xylitol can cause a sudden drop in
blood sugar, causing depression and eventually seizures.

Ingestion of turkey, ham bones or other holiday favorites can cause
intestinal tears or blockage, which can put your pet in the emergency
room.

Also many holiday decorations can send send your pet to the vet if
ingested.

Be vigilant, and keep your pets safe!
